Here at the Irrob.org, sharing our serious concerns about the whole Irob related issues, we believe that the Irob youth, who are hopelessly opting to perish in the deserts and seas, have been victims of: 1) persistent poverty of their Erob Wereda in general; 2) the unresolved Ethiopia-Eritrea border-issues and the militarization of the two unfriendly and belligerant countries’ unresolved security status have been tremendously affecting the young Irobs negatively and causing them to flee from their native Irobland and illegally emigrate to some unknown foreign countries while risking their precious lives in the process; 3) the lack of good and effective education system in the Erob Woreda/District that would prepare them to qualify them for entrance to competitive higher learning institutions, that is, colleges and universities in the local regional State of Tirgray or in the whole Ethiopia, so that to be able competing with other millions of jobless young people graduating every year from colleges and universites nationwide; 4) due to their parents’ poor economic status and their financial inability and infeasibilty of furthering their educations away from their home areas to other states in the country, the only thing they entertain is not how to succeed in their education but rather how to leave their country and go to foreign countries to enslave themselves with the hope of earning some money and helping their poore families in the Erob Woreda; 5) and thus they end up in the hands of those ruthless human traffickers who are well-organized globally to prey on those vulnerable and hopeless youth, like the Irob ones, for their own mere financial gains, while misleading them and endangering them with their deceptive false promises and leading them and causing them to perish in the dry deserts of dehydration and starvation and then to end up very likely drowning in the merciless seas and oceans as recently happened to our Irob youth!
Therefore, the dire and desperate outcries of the poor Irob parents and their anger against the human traffickers operating even in their very wereda/district as well as against their regional and national governments – while knowing what the traffickers are doing to their children for allowing them to continue their wicked operations instead of taking necessary measures to stop them from causing their vulnerable children to perish drowning in the seas or dying in the deserts because of inhumane treatments and lack of basic needs – are very legitimate and justifiable anger expressed against both the human traffickers and their governmental authorities!
If the Regional State of Tigray and the National Government of Federal Ethiopia are seriously and equally and fairly concerned for the Erob Wereda people like others in the whole country, we are tempted to question, then why the Special Technical and Vocational Education & Training and Agro-Processing Industrial Cluster Center (STVET-APICC) in Irob Wereda of Eastern Tigray stopped its construction, while it was supposed to be fully or, at least, partially completed by now and start giving education to the Irob youth, who are hopelessly emigrating to unknown foreign countries and perish in the process?
